POOL MAINTENANCE

In fact, every pool needs careful care and maintenance to keep itself in optimal conditions. Environment, wetting and atmospheric conditions can contaminate the water with microorganisms harmful not only to health, but also to the same installations. The dirt introduced into the water will therefore be eliminated thanks to the filtration system, preventing it from turning into food for the bacteria themselves.
It will be advisable to carry out daily and weekly checks to keep the pool in perfect condition. Chlorine and Ph will be checked every day, also proceeding to the removal of leaves, insects and any other external element.
Every week we must proceed to clean the walls of the tank, pass the suction device, wash the filter and add the right dose of anti-algae.
By following this simple guide, you will always have a well-maintained, clean and safe facility ready to allow yourself a healthy moment of relaxation immersed in the waters of your own pool.
In case of doubts or malfunctions it will be advisable to contact the supplier to request an inspection, as well as in case you do not feel like providing the maintenance of the system yourself.
Remember that proper cleaning is the basis for the safety of the whole family. With continuous cleaning, the pool will remain in perfect condition throughout the year.

FILTRATION AND DISINFECTION

Filtration is an essential operation, thanks to which it will be possible to eliminate most of the dirt accumulated in the pool with use. Bacteria, algae and viruses can be eliminated only and exclusively through the use of specific chemical products for the maintenance and disinfection of swimming pools.
The dirt introduced by bathers and the external environment ends up clouding the water. To keep it clean and crystalline it will be sufficient to resort to using the filter, capable of retaining dirt particles.
Given the vital role played by the filter, always make sure it is working properly and proceed to filter the entire volume of water every day, at least once a day.
Recognizing a clogged filter is simple. Has the pressure gauge exceeded 1? in this case it is time to clean and filter the filter. To do this you will have to switch off the pump and position the valve in "wash" mode. Once this has been done, turn the pump back on and leave it running until the water is clean.
Switch the pump motor off again and select the "rinse" item, then turn it back on for a maximum of 15 seconds.
Complete the operation by switching off the pump one last time, selecting "filtration" and turning it back on.
Once automated, this process will take place automatically and filtration can be carried out without problems.
However, transparent, clear and clean water is not always free from viruses and bacteria that are harmful to health. To protect against diseases and infections it will be necessary to proceed not only with filtration, but also with disinfection of the swimming pool.
Many harmful microorganisms are eliminated thanks to the addition of chlorine in the pool. The latter does not run out, but part of it (free residual chlorine) remains active and ready to attack further contaminants. For water disinfection to be effective, the level of free residual chlorine must be maintained between 0.8 and 1.2 ppm.
It will be advisable to check the level with the appropriate kit for chlorine and Ph, bearing in mind that the level of chlorine is subject to variations depending on pollution, the sun's rays, the total number of bathers and other factors.
Ph is also important and should be taken into due consideration as it affects the action of chlorine and the comfort of the pool. The Ph is an index that indicates the acidity and basicity of the water and must be kept in a range between 7.2 and 7.6, ideal for not irritating eyes and skin.
Values above 7.6 affect the disinfectant effect, give rise to annoying incrustations and possible damage to the pool (without counting the clogging of the filtration system). Remember therefore to check the Ph every day: use the Ph misus if the Ph is higher than 7.6, otherwise opt for the Ph plus.

START-UP AND SEASONAL MAINTENANCE

When the warm season is approaching, it will be advisable to concentrate on starting up your system, carefully following the supplier's instructions to avoid problems during use.
Therefore, before using the system, follow a suitable procedure that includes:
• verification of the correct operation of the plant (pump, filter ...)
• cleaning the tank (using descaling and degreasing products) and emptying if necessary.
• shock chlorination using granular chlorine
• careful analysis of chlorine and Ph (the latter will be regulated between 7.2 and 7.6, as explained above)
Remember that cleaning will be carried out when the sun is low, taking care to let the products work well and keeping the bottom and the walls of the system moist.
As for the granular chlorine, proceed by dissolving 20gr x mі of water inside a container, then pour it directly into the pool. Before adding the anti-algae it will be good to leave at least 24 hours.
Once cleaning is complete, you can start the maintenance program for the rest of the summer season. Let's briefly see the operations to be carried out every day:
• analysis and regulation of the Ph
• analysis of free residual chlorine
• cleaning of leaves, insects and dirt in general
On a weekly basis you will have to deal with additional steps aimed at maintaining optimal conditions, namely:
• cleaning of the skimmers, placed on the sides of the tank and dedicated to vacuuming the dirt. Also make sure that the water level is always at the level of the screws on the horizontal axis of each skimmer. You must also supply them with the right amount of pastiglioni.
• cleaning the walls of the tank
• use of the mud cleaner
• filter washing
• pouring of the anti-algae
Always check that the water level is right, adjust the chlorine and Ph levels if you need to add more water and add additional chlorine / anti-algae in case of rain.

Swimming pool maintenance: HOW TO BEHAVE DURING THE WINTER SEASON

Make sure that your pool spends the cold season in optimal conditions, protecting it from fouling, stains or corrosion.
Once the summer is over, continue the maintenance until the water temperature is below at least 15 °.
For wintering you will need:
• clean the walls and pass the mud cleaner
• make a shock chlorination
• make corrections to the Ph, if necessary
• empty the pipes and keep the water at a lower level than the skimmers
• use a wintering product suitable for your system
Finally, keep the pool covered with a suitably sized sheet and in mid-winter make sure to once again use a wintering product and shock chlorination.
If you take care of the plant during the winter season, you will save a lot of time when it is time to use it.
